WASHINGTON, DC--(Marketwired - Dec 17, 2015) - Waverley Labs, a leading provider of digital risk management software and services, today announced that it is a subcontractor to BRTRC Federal Solutions, Inc. (BRTRC) supporting the Cyber Security and Information Systems Technical Area Tasks (CS TAT) award recently announced by the Department of Defense.
BRTRC is one of six prime contractors that have been awarded part of a 5-year, $5 billion, Multiple Award Contract (MAC), in the Partial Small Business (SB) Set-aside competition pool from the Defense Technical Information Center (DTIC) to provide software and data analysis, cyber security, modeling and simulation, and knowledge management and information sharing. Waverley Labs will provide expertise around digital risk management and threat detection analysis that might be applied in these areas.
The Cyber Security and Information Systems Technical Area Tasks (CS TAT) acquisition is a MAC, Indefinite-Delivery, Indefinite Quantity (MAC IDIQ) that falls within the Department of Defense (DoD) Information Analysis Centers (IACs) contracts and is available for use by the Department of Defense including Defense Agencies, all DoD Field Activities, Army, Navy, Air Force, USSOCOM, and USTRANSCOM as well as other government agencies and state and local governments.
"Protecting cloud and critical infrastructure applications against remote surveillance and denial of service is one of the most difficult challenges facing the Federal government today," said Terri Thomas, BRTRC CEO. "Waverley Labs' deep expertise in digital risk management, threat detection and analysis aligns with a new security paradigm for protecting application infrastructure in large government organizations and we look forward to their contribution on a variety of fronts."
"We are pleased to contribute to the BRTRC's collective expertise as part of this important IDIQ contract," said Juanita Koilpillai, Founder & Chief Executive Officer of Waverley Labs. "The DoD recognizes the importance of a collaborative approach and collective knowledge base that enables new ideas and technologies focused on protecting the military's critical infrastructure and applications."
Waverley Labs is particularly focused on digital risk management and threat detection including the use of advanced software defined perimeters (SDPs) as they apply to protecting the military's critical infrastructure. SDPs are emerging as a key component in a new security paradigm for protecting application's infrastructure in enterprises and large government organizations, and particularly from large and sophisticated Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks.
Commercial SDPs are being developed by leading enterprises such as Coca-Cola and Mazda and in the public sector by the DHS and continue to be tested in organized industry "hack-a-thons" with an estimated 10 billion attempts to date -- all unsuccessful.
