The Panama Pacific International Exhibition (PPIE) has a rich history dating back to 1915, when the first exhibition was held in San Francisco to celebrate the opening of the Panama Canal, to commemorate the 400th anniversary of discovery of Pacific Ocean, and to celebrate rebuilding of San Francisco following the 1906 earthquake and fire. The PPIE was established as a large and magnificent event admired by millions from all over the world who came to visit.
