SAN JOSE, CA--(Marketwired - December 23, 2015) - Fresh off their $17M Series A round of funding, Trustlook, a leading global mobile security provider, today announced that it has expanded its award-winning security solutions to enterprises by offering the Trustlook technology to large application developers and OEMs.
With 16 million users across more than 50 countries, the Trustlook Mobile Security app already has a large and loyal consumer following. But the company's aim is to inject its security solutions into additional areas of vulnerability on the mobile device, including at the application and operating system levels.
"This announcement marks a significant milestone for Trustlook," said Allan Zhang, Founder and CEO of Trustlook. "It has always been our goal to go beyond the consumer and to offer our solutions to enterprises, especially those organizations where security is not a focus."
Mobile apps of all sizes are at risk of being hacked, according to a study by Bluebox Security. Developers are making the same security errors in their rush to get apps to market, regardless of the industry they are in. In fact, payment apps, which many people think would be more secure, are not, Bluebox noted. A study of 10 popular mobile payment apps found they lack even the most basic security controls.
"The mobile security model is changing," said Zhang. "No longer can anti-virus companies or operating systems alone secure users. App developers need to offer their users a separate set of protection."
The Trustlook Mobile Security engine will be embedded within select "Super Apps," which are mobile apps with a following of at least 10 million users. Users of these apps will benefit from Trustlook's easy-to-use protection from malware, phishing attacks, data loss, privacy threats and phone loss or theft.
