BEVERLY HILLS, Calif., Dec. 23, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Hologram USA announced the recreation of legendary R &B star Jackie Wilson for a full stage show of the dynamic presence that changed the entertainment business for ever. The tour will launch in 2017 and tour the nation. It will also be co-produced by FilmOn TV Networks and distributed online via FilmOn.com.
The announcement was made by Hologram USA CEO Alki David, Plateau Music Nashville CEO Tony Mantor and the Family of Jackie Wilson.
A Grammy Hall of Famer, and Rock and Roll Hall of Famer, Jackie Wilson was a pioneering soul and R &B singer still revered today for his hit "(Your Love Keeps Lifting Me) Higher and Higher." The Detroit native's influence went well beyond the genre he helped define, with his electrifying stage act driving audiences into a frenzy and earning him the nickname, "Mr. Excitement." When people called him "The Black Elvis," Elvis Presley would correct them and call himself, "The White Jackie Wilson." When Michael Jackson won his Grammy for Thriller in 1984 he dedicated it to Wilson.
