NEW YORK, NY and GLEN ROCK, NJ--(Marketwired - Dec 30, 2015) - Well Media Kingdom LLC and Surgeon Films are filming numerous individuals from New Jersey and New York who will be featured in an educational back pain documentary called "On the Floor." With 60% of production complete, producers are currently screening candidates for the final few segments of the documentary, including chronic back pain sufferers with dramatic stories, corporations with spine health wellness/preventive programs and leading spine health practitioners across the spectrum of conventional to non-conventional and conservative to invasive treatment options. Filming is scheduled for first quarter 2016 in the NJ/NY area. Parties interested in being considered for the documentary should email Julie@wellmediakingdom.com.
The documentary will be told through the stories of real people, including a Rutgers football standout/NFL football veteran, whose back pain has turned their lives upside down as they try to cope with the excruciating pain and physical limitations, as well as other issues that often result, such as social isolation, frustration, substance abuse/addiction, depression, weight gain, irritability, loss of job, and strained relationships with family and friends.
"Back pain is life altering and affects 80% of Americans at some point in their lives," noted Glen Rock, NJ-based orthopedic spine surgeon Bryan J. Massoud, M.D., one of the creative forces behind the film. "People generally don't understand what back pain sufferers are going through and have little patience for it long term, so sufferers not only lose their ability to do many normal activities, but often they become isolated as they lose their jobs, partners, and social network. We want people to understand the importance of the journey ahead as we collectively strive to prevent and effectively treat back pain and provide support to those impacted by it."
Dr. Massoud explained, "This project aims to bring hope, understanding and education to those suffering from back pain as they discover others are on a similar journey to the cure. Each person responds differently to treatments, so together we will explore the emotional and physical rollercoaster that sufferers go though as well as existing and emerging treatments inside and outside conventional medicine that may relieve their pain."
The film will feature individuals with medically diagnosed severe chronic back pain conditions who are still in pain, as well as those who may have found solutions that work. The documentary will not sell or promote any specific doctors, products or services to participants or viewers. Proceeds from the documentary will be used for back pain research and support programs for back pain sufferers. For more information visit: https://www.facebook.com/OnTheFloorBackPain/
