Media Advisory/The War Against Tobacco: The 2016 Conference on Smoking Cessation


OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - Jan. 18, 2016) - For the 8th year, Ottawa will be hosting the Annual Conference on Smoking Cessation.

During this two-days event, national and international experts will share the latest concepts in clinical tobacco treatment, program development, and smoking cessation research.

Presentation topics will address current issues, including the ongoing debate on the use of -e-cigarettes, the relationship between tobacco, alcohol and marijuana, interventions for First Nations, Inuit and Métis populations, and smoking cessation for girls and women. The conference will also host a debate on whether or not smokers should be hired in healthcare settings.
