Medical Marijuana, Inc. Sponsors “Por Grace Foundation’s” CBD Hemp Oil Awareness Events in Mexico

Medical Marijuana, Inc. Joins the Fight to Educate the 126 Million People Living in Mexico on CBD Hemp Oil and Help Lobby for More Access

SAN DIEGO, Jan. 21, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Medical Marijuana, Inc. (OTC Pink:MJNA) is proud to announce its support of a cannabidiol (CBD) hemp oil educational event Sunday, January 24, 2016 in Mexico City, hosted by our premier charitable partner, the “Por Grace Foundation.”

The cannabis movement is quickly progressing in Mexico starting with Congressional hearings set to begin on Monday, January 25th. Medical Marijuana, Inc., Dr. Bronner’s Mexico, Heaven Grown, Be Hemp and Cañamo Magazine, along with the Por Grace Foundation will be sponsoring a historic event in Mexico City called, “Cannabis: Medical and Industrial Uses In Mexico” taking place January 24 at the Sheraton.

The “Por Grace Foundation” was created by Raul Elizalde, the outspoken father of 8-year-old Grace. She was diagnosed with a rare and severe form of childhood epilepsy called Lennox-Gastaut syndrome (LGS) which triggers up to 400 seizures a day. Grace’s family was the first to be granted special permission last year to legally import cannabidiol (CBD) into Mexico.

The goal of the “Por Grace Foundation” is to make sure Mexican families receive the right to health care, and inform parents with sick children whose quality of life can be dramatically improved with CBD hemp oil. More than 100 families will be attending the Mexico City event. One of those families struggling to care for a sick child is Abelardo Maldonado. He is the father of 11-year-old Alina Maldonado Montes de Oca-- who is battling drug-resistant epilepsy and infantile cerebral palsy. Medical Marijuana, Inc. has teamed up with the “Aguinaco Abogados” law firm in Mexico to help Alina’s family fight for legal access to CBD hemp oil. After nearly four months of fighting in the courts, Alina’s family will hopefully soon become the second family to receive permission from the Mexican government to import CBD hemp oil into Mexico. Alina’s parents have created a Change.org petition which has received more than 128,000 signatures, supporting the family’s endeavor to get permission from the government to import CBD hemp oil.

“This is a historic time in Mexico, and none of this could have been accomplished without the help of a coalition of hundreds of families in Mexico. Together, they are helping bring down the walls, which will forever change the face of legalization in Mexico, and in turn will help re-shape the economies of both Mexico and the U.S.,” states Stuart W. Titus, PhD and Chief Executive Officer of Medical Marijuana, Inc.

Titus and several other leaders in this movement are set to speak at the Mexico City event, including a highly respected neurologist, Dr. Saul Garza Morales. Click here to view the full program for the event.

Then on January 26th, Medical Marijuana, Inc. will also be sponsoring an all-day expo at Restaurante Labna in Cancun, the same day the national public debates on marijuana kick-off. After the debate join: Medical Marijuana, Inc., Dr. Bronner’s Mexico, Heaven Grown, Be Hemp and Cañamo Magazine at Restaurante Labna to learn more and discuss what unfolded during day one of the public debates.
