CHICAGO, Feb. 17, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The John Marshall Law School in Chicago is partnering with the Illinois State Bar Association, Illinois Judges Association and Justinian Society of Lawyers to honor the careers of three distinguished lawyers.
The group will bestow the Award of Exemplary Professional Service upon Illinois Supreme Court Chief Justice Rita B. Garman; Jesse White, Illinois Secretary of State; and Susan Sher, Senior Advisor to the University of Chicago President and former Assistant to President Obama and Chief of Staff to First Lady Michelle Obama.
The Distinguished Professional Service Joint Dinner will be held Feb. 25, at The Standard Club in Chicago.
The event continues John Marshall's dedication to acknowledging the service of lawyers to their community. The John Marshall Law School Alumni Association gave Justice Garman its Freedom Award in 2014. The award is given to a recipient who embodies the highest aspirations of the John Marshall community, through their work, high ethical standards and efforts to help society. Justice Garman delivered the keynote address at John Marshall's 200th commencement held in January 2016.
