Cornerstone Standards Council Presents Ontario's First Responsible Quarry Certificate

TORONTO, ON--(Marketwired - February 20, 2016) - In an Ontario first, CRH Canada Group will be presented Monday with a certificate recognizing its Acton Quarry as the world's first certified responsible quarry. Stone, sand and gravel from the quarry will now carry the Cornerstone Standards Council (CSC) label and, for the first time ever, aggregate buyers will be able to purchase aggregate materials knowing they come from an operation that protects the environment, engages openly with the community and operates following industry best practices. For aggregate operators CSC's certification promises a less contentious siting process, improved social license to operate and preferred market access from public and private purchasers.
