TORONTO, March 01, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- As a part of the company’s corporate social responsibility initiative, SYNNEX Canada Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of SYNNEX Corporation, (NYSE:SNX), a leading Technology Solutions distributor, announces its continued investment in the development of the future IT workforce through its sponsorship of the Greater Toronto Central Region For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology (FIRST) Robotics competition on March 4-5 at Ryerson University as a part of its long-standing involvement with FIRST Canada.
FIRST Canada was established in 2001 to meet the growing need for student robotics programs in Canada. FIRST Robotics Competition involves over 200 teams of high school students 14 years of age and older, to build and compete with a robot of their own design while having the opportunity to work alongside professional engineer volunteer coaches.
