Autoliv speaks on self-driving cars in Swedish parliament

(Stockholm, March 10, 2016) — Autoliv, Inc. (NYSE: ALV, and SSE: ALIV sdb), the
worldwide leader in automotive safety systems, today speaks to the Swedish
parliament on how cross-sector collaboration in automotive, traffic and
infrastructure development can spur both safety and innovation going forward.
The seminar, named Drive Me – Self-Driving cars for Sustainable Mobility,
focuses on the collaborative project where 100 self-driving cars will be tested
under daylight conditions on city streets. The seminar was jointly initiated by
the Drive Me project, the governing Social Democrats together and the Liberals.
Autoliv will speak of how safety, quality and innovation go hand in hand when
developing autonomous vehicles and smart infrastructure.

According to the World Health Organization, 1.25 million people die in traffic
accidents every year, and the United Nations’ Agenda for Sustainable Development
sets a target of halving these numbers by 2030. At Autoliv, the challenges
regarding traffic safety and innovation development are seen as linked:

About Drive Me:

Drive Me is a unique large-scale autonomous driving pilot project in which 100
self-driving Volvo XC90 cars will be put to use on public roads under everyday
driving conditions. The cars will be driven autonomously on approximately 50
kilometers of selected roads in and around Gothenburg, Sweden, roads which will
be typical commuter arteries including motorway conditions and frequent queues.
The project was initiated in 2013. The first test vehicles have been on the road
in Gothenburg since 2014 – and Volvo Cars has recently taken a major stride
