George Canyon's Stampede Appearance in Support of Three Local Non-Profits

George Canyon and six other Canadian Country Recording Artists get together to give back

CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwired - April 6, 2016) - On Wednesday April 6, the Calgary Homeless Foundation, the DIL Walk Foundation and Keys to Recovery will make a joint announcement of a collaborative Stampede event called Stampede Party with a Purpose. Featuring seven Canadian Country Recording Artists, Stampede Party with a Purpose is an example of three organizations coming together, despite different missions, to collaborate in tough economic times in order to continue serving those in need.

The fundraiser, a full three day event, features George Canyon, a multi-JUNO award winner and a Canadian Country Music Awards' Humanitarian of the Year Award Winner, as its headliner.

Designed to give back to Calgarians in need, Stampede Party with a Purpose leverages an already iconic Calgary event and gives it a philanthropic twist. "We know that times in this city are challenging right now, but the fact is, our missions still remain the same. The people we serve still need our help and so in an effort to continue being able to serve them, we as organizations have banded together to create something fun and affordable for local Calgary businesses and Calgarians to attend as their Stampede party," says Sharon deBoer, Director of Development for the Calgary Homeless Foundation. "This fundraiser is an incredible example of organizations and artists working together for a greater good."

The Stampede Party with a Purpose will be held at Civic on Third on July 12, 13 and 14 and will run from 8am-5pm with doors opening at 7am. Each day will feature George Canyon alongside a variety of local Calgary artists. One hundred percent of the proceeds raised from the three day fundraiser will be in support of the hosting agencies. Tickets for the event are $29 and available through ticketfly.com.
