VIP Announces 2016 Women in Technology Scholarship (WITS) Winners

RESTON, VA--(Marketwired - May 18, 2016) - Visionary Integration Professionals (VIP), a leading performance delivery and technology consulting firm that helps organizations better align strategy to execution, today announced the winners of the 2016 Women in Technology Scholarship (WITS) program. Now in its ninth year, the program offers multiple scholarships to women pursuing a career in computer science, information technology (IT), management information systems, computer engineering, or another related field.

"The WITS program is built upon encouraging young women as they pursue their dreams in the field of technology," said Jonna Ward, CEO of Visionary Integration Professionals. "I'm proud to support these extraordinary candidates in their educational journeys to become future IT leaders."

Inspired by her own journey as a woman in technology, Ward launched the inaugural WITS program in 2007 to inspire and assist young women interested in fields of computer science and technology. Since its launch, the program has expanded nationwide, awarding scholarships to more than 70 women. The 2016 program was no different, receiving over 150 applications from across the country. After careful consideration, 12 candidates were selected from the pool of qualified applicants.

Winners were selected according to their academic performance, essay responses, involvement in the community and extracurricular activities. The 2016 WITS scholarship recipients are:
