MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA--(Marketwired - May 23, 2016) - Aconex Limited (
The two-day event, scheduled for 16-17 June of this year, will be hosted by Aconex and the State Government of Victoria with support from the Australian Constructors Association (ACA).
"Thanks to a culture of innovation and collaboration that has driven the Australian construction industry, contractors and developers are working with founders of digital construction start-ups to deliver capital projects more efficiently," said Aconex CEO Leigh Jasper. "At the same time, Australian digital technology companies are building a new engine of growth for the country's economy. We are pleased to partner with the Victorian Government and the ACA to bring everyone together to examine innovative digital construction technologies, share our views on what's next, and cement the foundation of the emerging digital construction industry."
Transformation through Innovation
Mr. Jasper added that around the world, forward-looking construction and infrastructure project teams are adopting digital technologies that have transformed business practices across other industries. These technologies -- including the cloud, collaboration software, mobility, virtual modeling, big data, and the internet of things (IoT) -- help contractors, developers and consultants manage increasing project complexity and risk, new project delivery structures, and stricter regulation and compliance.
Construction industry adopters of these digital technologies are reporting profound improvement in the efficiency with which assets are designed, built, operated, and maintained over their lifecycle. Construction Technology Summit 2016 will explore the impact of new digital technologies and help set the direction of Australia's construction industry for the coming decades.
"We fully support Construction Technology Summit 2016 as a catalyst for organising the rapidly growing ecosystem of digital technology providers, buyers and users in the Australian construction and infrastructure industry," said John Flecker, president of the ACA. "The ongoing curation of this ecosystem will be a key factor in our country's future economic development."
