Annual Awards Program Honors Visionary Organizations that Unlock Data to Power Business

Informatica World, San Francisco, Calif., May 25, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Informatica, the world’s No. 1 provider of data management solutions, today announced the winners of the 2016 Informatica Innovation Awards. Five organizations received this prestigious honor during a luncheon reception on May 23 at Informatica World in San Francisco. Now in its 16th year, the annual Informatica Innovation Awards program recognizes organizations that demonstrate vision, creativity and leadership in the use of Informatica solutions to transform business through data.

Informatica Innovation Awards nominations are judged on multiple criteria, including transformational impact, creativity and innovation, leverage and scope, complexity, and environmental or social impact. Drawn from more than 7,000 Informatica customers, this year’s five winners and six finalists have achieved exceptional results in one or more of the following areas:

  • Analytics
  • Application Modernization
  • Big Data and IoT
  • Cloud
  • Data Governance
  • Marketing Excellence and Customer Service Efficiency
  • Operational Efficiency

The 2016 Innovation Awards winners are:

  • CHRISTUS Health – Everything CHRISTUS Health does is about taking better care of patients. While it was imperative that they control growing volumes of data, they knew that if they did it right, there was an unprecedented opportunity to use data to increase effectiveness and quality of services delivered. With end-to-end data management providing accurate, consistent views of data across the enterprise, the health system is confident they will improve the patient experience, enable clinical insight discovery and identify operational efficiencies. CHRISTUS Health implemented Informatica as a scalable enterprise data management architecture across its hundreds of healthcare facilities powering a voracious demand for business and clinical analytics for value-based care delivery. Immediate outcomes include an annual $1M in savings across lines of business and a 30 percent reduction in data stewardship efforts coupled with increased contract management across the Group Purchasing Organization.
  • Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) – With 43,000 customer touch-points across India, IOCL, the country’s largest enterprise, delivers petroleum products to every part of the country. IOCL is powering toward real-time centralized management of its LPG distribution network using Informatica as a central component. This helps differentiate IOCL in a highly competitive market. In addition to proactive monitoring and faster point-of-sale policy implementations, the solution enabled the world’s “Largest Cash Transfer Benefit Program” (per the “Guinness Book of World Records”), with direct benefit transfers affecting more than 80 million households.
  • JLL and AmberLeaf – To capitalize on an evolving real estate market and create a strong competitive advantage, global commercial real estate services provider, JLL, identified an opportunity to deepen the firm’s already leading data delivery, to include proactive, data and insights-informed client service. The goal: provide investor and occupier clients with up-to-the-minute real estate information about their property portfolios to help drive their business strategies, real estate investments and more efficient operations. JLL relies on the Informatica Intelligent Data Platform (IDP) for fast, easy access to authoritative data, self-service analytics and comprehensive views of properties. Enabled by Informatica, JLL has improved client satisfaction, increased revenues for JLL and its partners and recognized a substantial savings, including a 15 percent reduction in energy consumption across JLL facilities.
  • Network Rail and Capgemini – Network Rail has responsibility for the maintenance and operational efficiency of the 22,000 miles of the U.K. track system. To reduce costs and increase service efficiency, Network Rail needed to move from a planned maintenance model to a predictive maintenance model. Network Rail worked with Capgemini to implement an Informatica solution to consolidate and standardize asset data drawn from 80 asset systems to power Network Rail’s Linear Asset Decision Support (LADS). By enabling a single view of each asset across its lifecycle, the solution is saving Network Rail over $72 million annually, improving performance for 4.5 million daily passengers and the daily movement of 34 million net ton miles of freight, and helping keep the railway the safest in Europe.
  • Texas Health and Human Services (HHS) – In 2015, Texas HHS was given the mandate to improve public service through transformation; as part of this transformation, Texas HHS would consolidate five agencies to three. Understanding, connecting and ensuring the accuracy of citizen information from across the agencies presented a big hurdle. HHS established a functional enterprise data governance and data management program with the Informatica Intelligent Data Platform (IDP) to inventory data assets across some of the state’s largest IT systems and create an HHS metadata repository. This holistic solution connects disparate siloed data sources to deliver master data for HHS clients and providers and enables the agency to discover insights that aim to improve the lives of all Texans. Additionally, as the aggressive legal deadline approaches, HHS is on target to meet it.

In addition, Informatica also honored six finalist organizations:

  • CIT Group Inc. and Infoverity
  • The George Washington University
  • Hewlett Packard Enterprise and HP Inc.
  • PostNL and Capgemini
  • Tinkoff Bank and DIS Group
  • Verizon
