Fidelis Care Partners with the New York Restoration Project

Faith based organization invites community to participate in local events


NEW YORK, June 7, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Fidelis Care, a Statewide health plan with nearly 1.5 million members, announced today a partnership with the New York Restoration Project (NYRP) to support Green and Healthy NYC, a public health program created to promote health and wellness among New Yorkers. The partnership includes the support of five community gardens, one located in each New York City borough.
The following are Fidelis Care sponsored community gardens:

  • Curtis "50 Cent" Community Garden in Queens
  • Cooper Street Community Garden in Brooklyn
  • Riley Levin Community Garden in Manhattan
  • Bathgate Community Garden in the Bronx
  • Mount Olivet Presbyterian Garden in Staten Island

Fidelis Care plans to host a number of community events at the gardens for local New York City residents and Fidelis Care members. Among the events are nutrition workshops, gardening clinics, and garden restoration volunteer projects. Back-to-school events will also take place to promote gardening and nutrition education among children.
