MARIN COUNTY, CA--(Marketwired - June 28, 2016) - Instacart (www.Instacart.com), the fast-growing retail delivery service whose personal shoppers hand pick and deliver items from trusted local stores, announced today an expansion into Marin County. As of today, residents in Marin and surrounding areas can order from their favorite retailers like Whole Foods Market, Costco, Mollie Stone's Markets, Andronico's Community Markets, Petco, Smart & Final and Safeway, and have their groceries delivered straight to their doorsteps in as little as one hour.
"Expanding our footprint into Marin is an exciting indicator of the growing demand for grocery delivery in the Bay Area," said Sid Agarwal, Instacart's General Manager for the San Francisco Bay Area. "San Francisco is one of our biggest and most successful markets, and we're thrilled to provide Marin's community with the same fast and convenient access to their favorite fresh and healthy products, whenever and wherever they want them."
"We're thrilled to provide our Marin shoppers with the convenience of delivery they need to keep up with busy schedules. We share the same vision as Instacart to provide shoppers with access to the highest-quality, fresh and healthy groceries, even if they can't make it to the store," said Jeff Jenkins, Whole Foods Market's global executive coordinator of digital strategy. "We're thrilled to continue growing our partnership to meet the needs of more and more customers. "
Mollie Stone's Markets first partnered with Instacart in June 2015. "We have been able to provide a great service and have made a difference in peoples' lives with this convenience," said CEO Mike Stone. "We've been really impressed by the interest from customers, and expanding the service to customers in our own backyard in Marin is a natural next step."
Marin marks the fourth trade area where Andronico's has partnered with Instacart for on-demand grocery delivery, following San Francisco, East Bay and South Bay. The company has already been piloting a pick-up service through Instacart in its San Anselmo store. "Through Instacart, we've been able to reach customers well outside our brick and mortar parameters, making the partnership extremely valuable for us," said CEO Suzy Monford. "The results have been impressive -- our business on Instacart now represents 95 percent incremental sales for Andronico's."
Instacart's initial delivery area in Marin County includes areas within 14 zip codes: 94941, 94901, 94965, 94903, 94920, 94904, 94960, 94925, 94939, 94949, 94945, 94947, 94930, 94957.
For every order placed in the first two months following launch, Instacart will donate a meal to the SF-Marin Food Bank. Instacart will also have a presence at a number of events in the local Marin community during its launch, the Downtown Farmer's Market in San Rafael on Thursday, June 30. Attendees can stop by the Instacart booth for swag and samples.
