NAPA, CA--(Marketwired - June 30, 2016) - Today Beringer Vineyards, one of the most respected and historic wineries in America, announced it is taking its annual Great Steak Challenge promotion to a new level through a partnership with Food Network's special tournament, Chopped Grill Masters Napa, which premieres Tuesday, July 5 at 10 p.m. ET/PT. The five part tournament, shot on location at Beringer Vineyards, is complemented by a four-month in-store promotion at select retailers across the United States, along with Chef Geoffrey Zakarian, a Chopped Grill Masters Napa judge, serving as Beringer's culinary ambassador for 2016 and into 2017.
Through an intense outdoor competition, 16 grilling professionals battle it out for the title of Chopped Grill Masters Champion and $50,000 awarded by Beringer Chief Winemaker Mark Beringer and a panel of judges.

In addition to serving as a Chopped Grill Masters Napa judge, Chef Zakarian will continue serving as Beringer's culinary ambassador throughout 2016 and into 2017, later providing exclusive steak recipes as well as steak and wine pairing tips at GreatSteakChallenge.com.
