Industry Leaders and Innovative Designs Receive Top Honors at 2016 Sensors Expo & Conference

Awards Presented for University Poster Contest and Sensors Design Challenge; Industry Veteran Roger Grace Recognized for Longtime Contributions to Sensors Community

NEWTON, MA--(Marketwired - Jun 30, 2016) - Sensors Expo & Conference (#Sensors16), the nation's leading event focused exclusively on sensors and sensor-integrated systems, today announced the winners of the newly launched University Poster Contest and the Sensors Design Challenge that took place at the event last week in San Jose, California. A team from the Universidade de Lisboa was named this year's winner of the Sensors Poster Contest for "Integrated Strategies for Magnetic Field Detection at the Nanoscale," and a team from Sonoma State University was awarded top honors in the Sensors Design Challenge for a solution named "Caretech."

In addition, industry veteran Roger Grace of Roger Grace Associates, was recognized as part of the Sensors Awards Program. Roger, who was instrumental in orchestrating the University Program at Sensors Expo, was acknowledged with the first ever Industry Impact Award in recognition of his longtime contributions to both Sensors Expo and the entire sensors and MEMS community.

The University Poster Contest was developed as part of the new Non-Profit & University Program, designed to encourage participation from all members of academia at the annual event. The inaugural contest offers academia the unique opportunity to showcase new research and innovative designs to the larger sensors community through outstanding visual presentations. Top three winners included:
