Phone.com® to Debut Latest API at All About the API Conference

API to Transform How Businesses Deliver Services

NEWARK, N.J., July 14, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Phone.com, Inc. a leading provider of cloud-based communications services, will release the latest version of its application programming interface (API) at TMCnet’s All About the API conference in Las Vegas July 19-21.

The new API is a true complement to Phone.com and its leading cloud communications and business phone service. Built from the ground up for developers, the Phone.com API is well documented and easy to understand. Unlike many competing APIs that are designed to facilitate building a telephony system from scratch, the Phone.com API is hooked into a full-featured VoIP solution.

Phone.com EVP & CTO Alon Cohen and COO Ramesh Elaiyavalli will speak at the event. Cohen, inventor of the audio transceiver that made VoIP possible, has been a driving force behind defining how APIs work with Phone.com services. Elaiyavalli is a longtime technology executive, change agent and product innovator who is leading Phone.com in its bi-coastal growth and development, including overseeing the Phone.com API project.

“Year over year we see more and more business moving to the cloud,” said Phone.com CEO Ari Rabban. “A big part of the appeal is the ability to customize your solution. With most providers, you can’t even customize call-handling rules. With Phone.com and our APIs, we will work with you to create custom solutions and new services to cater to your customers.”

From dedicated IP Phone Solutions, such as the LiftMaster® Internet Protocol Access Control (IPAC), to delivering CRM and phone integration for the AppCard™ customer loyalty platform, Phone.com APIs make it easier for businesses to achieve their goals.

LiftMaster uses the new Phone.com API to automate on boarding control devices, allowing their field installers to be more productive.

For companies already using Phone.com VoIP services, the API is a way to extend additional value to their clients and customers.

“At AppCard we are more than just satisfied Phone.com customers, we integrate our customer relationship management (CRM) with our phones, our billing system and our operations,” said Dan Winnick, Product Engineer. “From the moment we get a customer call, our CRM collects information that is immediately available for our staff.”

AppCard also uses Phone.com APIs to proactively support their customers.

“Our monitoring system can detect an offline card reader and use an API to generate a call to the store in order to proactively help the business owner resolve the problem,” Winnick said. “Similarly, when a customer’s card is declined, we can initiate a call to the customer allowing them to update their information.”
