SOLANA BEACH, CA--(Marketwired - August 03, 2016) - StackIQ, makers of the Stacki server provisioning platform, today announced that the Board of Directors has appointed Pervez Choudhry as CEO effective 18 July, 2016. In conjunction with Pervez' hire, Tim McIntire assumed the roles of Chairman of the Board and CTO effective that date.
"We're thrilled to have Pervez Choudhry as our new CEO," McIntire said, "as the Stacki project has hit critical growth rates, and we are ready to accelerate enterprise adoption. His experience will benefit StackIQ immeasurably, and we believe he is the right person to drive this new stage in StackIQ's future."
Choudhry has been working in high tech for over 20 years, and brings experience from some of the world's most successful startups including Splunk and BEA WebLogic. His most recent experience as a Vice President at Puppet provided know-how and relationships in the datacenter automation space that will benefit StackIQ greatly.
Choudhry comes to StackIQ at a time when Stacki adoption has hit a sustained level, and growth is starting to accelerate. Taking over at a time when users are moving to supported editions of the product, and demand for new features is peaking, Choudhry has the right skills to navigate Stacki's growth moving forward.
"I came to StackIQ because the technology is compelling and solves a problem that every enterprise struggles with -- how to get fast, repeatable installations without tying up an inordinate amount of operations' time," Mr. Choudhry said. "I look forward to working with the StackIQ team and our partners to deliver a set of comprehensive solutions for the new digital enterprise."
Well over a million Linux server nodes are under management by Stacki, and its open source sibling the Rocks Cluster Distribution (Stacki includes software developed by the Rocks Cluster Group at the San Diego Supercomputer Center at the University of California, San Diego, and its contributors).
Stacki is an open source software project. Contributions, questions, and comments are encouraged by and for the community. End users and developers are invited to visit the resources below for information and to download Stacki for immediate use.
