Skanska builds the new Pensacola Bay Bridge in Florida, USA, for USD 399M, about SEK 3.3 billion


Skanska has signed a contract with the Florida Department of Transportation to
construct the Pensacola Bay Bridge in Florida, USA. The contract is worth USD
399M, about SEK 3.3 billion, which will be included in the order bookings for
Skanska USA Civil in the third quarter 2016.
The design-build contract is to replace the existing bridge over Pensacola Bay
with two new, three-lane bridges, connecting the cities of Pensacola and Gulf
Breeze. Each new bridge will have a length of just over three miles, about five
kilometers. The total project length is 3.7 miles, about six kilometers,
including the roadway approaches on each end of the bridges.

Construction is scheduled to begin in the third quarter 2016 and the project is
slated for completion in August 2020.
