Korea Media Tours PowerStream-KEPCO Microgrid in Penetanguishene

PENETANGUISHENE, ON--(Marketwired - August 30, 2016) - A delegation representing six major media outlets from South Korea travelled here Monday to learn more about the innovative microgrid project PowerStream and its partner, the Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) launched in June 2016, which currently provides several hours of backup power supply for approximately 400 customers in the area.

The delegation, first welcomed by Jeff Lees, Chief Administrative Officer at the Town of Penetanguishene, and other officials from the municipality at the local town hall, afterwards toured the microgrid facility located adjacent to PowerStream's Robert Street Municipal Substation. The Korean media representatives interviewed several smart grid experts from PowerStream and KEPCO about the microgrid technology and its positive impacts on customers in Penetanguishene.

The event also provided PowerStream and KEPCO with an opportunity to further promote this cutting-edge technology in their combined effort to facilitate its commercial growth throughout North America and around the world.
