AssetWorks Implements an Integrated Workplace Management System (AiM) at the Times Higher Education University Rankings #1 University in the World, The California Institute of Technology

SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS--(Marketwired - Sept. 13, 2016) - At 5:00am on August 29th, California Institute of Technology (Caltech) went live with their implementation of AiM - an Integrated Workplace Management System (IWMS) by AssetWorks.

To optimize the stewardship of their facilities - the team at Caltech selected AiM by AssetWorks as their facility management solution in 2015.

Faced with a facilities management system not configured to support their numerous processes, Caltech facilities employees were forced to use various workarounds to retrofit their system to meet their needs. The outdated system interface was difficult for many employees to navigate, and even with retrofitted systems, their system did not allow facility staff to pull facilites data.

The AssetWorks professional services team worked closely with numerous Caltech process teams to discover their desired outcomes and determine how to best configure AiM to perform those processes. AiM was configured with Caltech's desired performance metrics in mind.

Since implementation:

• Executives and administrators to view performance quickly and easily.
• Maintenance technicians receive work orders in the field - eliminating the need to repeatedly log into an application to print orders
• Customized configuration supports Caltech's innovative processes and unique needs

Over the past year, the teams at AssetWorks and Caltech have worked to implement this robust asset management solution for the facilities at the school. AiM will touch several institutional departments at Caltech, helping over 350 maintenance and operations personnel deliver facilities services and maintenance to 70 main campus buildings comprising 4.2 million gross square feet, including 546,000 gross square feet of residential facilities.

Key members of the implementation include Caltech's Director Maintenance Management and Energy Services Matt Berbee and AssetWorks Senior Project Manager Gil Oswald, who worked tirelessly to get the implementation off the ground.

One of the largest and most successful implementations in the history of the company, this integration is met with much celebration by both the AssetWorks and Caltech teams.
