Golden Gate University Braden Leadership Series Presents Thought Leaders Every Tuesday at Noon

SAN FRANCISCO, Sept. 15, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Renowned Bay Area thought leaders share advice and expertise on business leadership at the Golden Gate University (GGU) Braden Leadership Speaker Series, open to GGU students, alumni, and the general public every Tuesday at noon through December 1, 2016.

The next lecture of the series, “Brain Savvy Leadership,” will feature Jenifer Lippincott, a nationally recognized author who has appeared on The Today Show and NPR, speaking on September 27 about the neuroscience of leadership. Ms. Lippincott has assisted clients such as IBM, Walt Disney World, Deloitte and the Department of Defense to increase productivity and achieve leadership excellence and helped to launch saleable startups such as Identity Holdings and Kidtopia. She is also a brain-based facilitator for the Neuroleadership Institute.

On October 11 Katrina Salazar, CPA, president of the California Board Of Accountancy, will present on “Leadership, The Accounting Profession, & Consumer Protection.”  Before her appointment to the California Board of Accountancy in 2012 by Governor Edmund G. Brown, Jr., Salazar served as vice president and secretary/treasurer prior to her election as president in 2015. She also serves as controller for the California Correctional Peace Officers Association.

“Attendees can register for one Accounting or Tax continuing professional education (CPE) unit for attending all sessions,” said Fred Sroka, dean of the Golden Gate University Bruce F. Braden School of Taxation and the School of Accounting. “The ability to lead has become an essential complement to the technical skill set for tax and accounting professionals, and we are excited about the high-caliber line-up of speakers and the broad spectrum of topics we will be presenting at the Series.”
