MELVILLE, N.Y., Sept. 28, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- BZ Media LLC announced today the winners of the second annual InterDrone™ Film Festival, which took place September 7 at the Paris Hotel in Las Vegas. The grand prize and a check for $5,000 for the Best Video overall went to Michael Bishop for Into the West.

The 10 judges used their expertise in aerial cinematography to determine the best videos captured with a drone in six categories, with each category winner receiving $500. The finalists were:

“We had more than 320 submissions from 23 countries,” said Ted Bahr, Chairman of InterDrone. “The judges had a hard time selecting winners in each of the six categories as well as the winner overall.” David and Sarah Oneal from That Drone Show hosted the Film Festival reception and gave out the awards.
The People’s Choice award, which came with a $500 cash prize, was awarded to Frederic Rousseau for his video Moon Line in the Action Sports category.
InterDrone 2017 will be held at the Rio Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas from September 18-20, 2017. The InterDrone Film Festival was hosted by Film Freeway and the next contest will open in mid-May, 2017.
