Annual Stuff-a-Bus Event keeps Calgary Food Bank Shelves Full

CALGARY, AB--(Marketwired - October 25, 2016) - Calgary Transit, Calgary Co-op and XL 103 FM are joining forces again to collect donations for the Calgary Food Bank at the annual Stuff-a-Bus event. A standard 40-foot bus can carry about 70 passengers, but how much food can it carry?

On Saturday, Nov. 5 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Calgary Transit buses will be outside every Co-op location in the city. Calgarians are encouraged to stuff the buses full of non-perishable food and/or cash donations to support the Calgary Food Bank.

"It's great to see Calgary come out and help their neighbours in need, everyone is so generous. Donations will go a long way to help families and individuals in crisis, especially as we head into our busiest season," says Calgary Food Bank Food Industry Development Coordinator Cindy Drummond.

The 24th annual Stuff-a-Bus is one of Calgary's largest single-day food drives with over $1.7 million being raised in its 23-year history. Last year's event raised more than $195,000.00 in food and funds.
