Peter Busby, Architect AIBC, and Robert Hunter, LLB Recognized with Honorary Membership in APEGBC

BURNABY, BC--(Marketwired - November 01, 2016) - The Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of BC (APEGBC) recognizes Peter Busby, MAIBC, and Robert W. Hunter, LLB, with honorary membership in the association for their dedicated commitment to the professions of engineering and geoscience.

Mr. Busby has made numerous valuable contributions to the profession of engineering. He helped shape the lives of thousands of engineers in BC by raising awareness of the engineering profession, and by his continual emphasis of the importance of collaboration amongst architects and engineering consultants. Mr. Busby is the founder and recent chair of the Canada Green Building Council and is a pioneer on green building design in Canada. He is Managing Director, San Francisco, with Perkins + Will. His standards of professionalism, initiative and leadership have been passed on to countless engineers now practicing in BC.

Mr. Hunter served as the association's primary legal counsel for three decades. In this capacity he supported the association's responsibility to protect the public and maintain high professional standards. He provided counsel and guidance to APEGBC, its Presidents, Councils, CEO and staff, and to the Discipline Committee for 34 years during his time at the law firm Bull Houser. In his retirement, his services and input will be greatly missed.

APEGBC's Council may confer honorary membership in APEGBC to an individual who, while not a member of the association, has made significant and sustained contributions to engineering and/or geoscience in BC.

The honorary memberships were presented on October 22, 2016 in Victoria, BC, during APEGBC's Annual Conference and AGM.
