He will be sharing his knowledge and expertise in Process Improvement, Statistics, Health Services, Healthcare, Lean Six Sigma, Theory of Constraints, and Service Businesses.

Mr. DeBusk has been active in the healthcare industry for 40 years. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering & Operations Research from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in 1979 and his Master of Science in Industrial Engineering from the University of Tennessee in 1987. Mr. DeBusk’s career path began with his involvement in Cooperative Education during college. There he was introduced to healthcare, found that he loved working with people, and was inspired to pursue a career in the field of Process Improvement.
Mr. DeBusk’s day-to-day responsibilities at UHS of Delaware, one of the nation’s largest and most respected healthcare management companies, include leading efforts to identify and reduce waste and improve quality and the patient experience. His responsibilities include operational and clinical process improvement as well as leadership in Corporate Surgery, Pharmacy, Radiology, and Laboratory operations.
Mr. DeBusk attributes his success to his perseverance and respect for people. Among his many accomplishments, he is most proud of his work in helping with the organization and treatment of patients and of his ability to utilize his knowledge to help the practitioners give quality care. Mr. DeBusk has written a variety of peer-reviewed publications and has been invited to speak to numerous professional organizations throughout his career. He was named Outstanding Faculty Member at St. Mary’s University of Minnesota. Mr. DeBusk’s goals over the next five years include continued professional growth and part-time consulting projects.
Mr. DeBusk is a member of the Society for Health Systems (SHS), Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers (IISE), and American Society for Quality (ASQ). Charitable organizations he works with include the Wounded Warriors and Boy Scouts of America. He is proud to be a professional engineer, Eagle Scout, and Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt.
In his free time, Mr. DeBusk enjoys golf, scuba diving, and reading.
