NEW YORK, Jan. 17, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Dr. Yuri Lyubchenko of the University of Nebraska Medical Center has been selected to join the Education Board at the American Health Council. He will be sharing his knowledge and expertise on Nanomedicine, Biophysics, and Nanotechnology.

As a professor at the University of Nebraska Medical Center since 2004, Dr. Lyubchenko utilizes his platform as an opportunity to prepare the next generation of scientists. University of Nebraska Medical Center serves as the only public academic health sciences center committed to educating the healthcare work force to discover cures and treatments to provide the best care for patients. Dr. Lyubchenko’s day-to-day responsibilities consist of teaching biophysics and biochemistry, pharmaceutical courses, guiding graduates and professionals, conducting research, writing grants, and nanoimaging.
In 1971, Dr. Lyubchenko earned his PhD in Biophysics and Nanomedicine from Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology.
Dr. Lyubchenko maintains affiliations with the following organizations: American Chemical Society, Biophysical Society, American Association for Pharmaceutical Science, and American Association of Advancement of Science. Additionally, Dr. Lyubchenko volunteers with the US Against Alzheimer.
Dr. Lyubchenko’s interest in the field of Biophysics and Nanomedicine, developed after receiving encouragement from his physics high school teacher. He attributes his success to being goal-driven and hard work.
Among his many accomplishments, he is most proud to have written more than two hundred and fifty-four peer reviewed publications.
Due to his unwavering dedication to biophysics, Dr. Lyubchenko is recognized as the 2008 Distinguished Scientist.

In his free time, Dr. Lyubchenko enjoys skiing, biking, and reading. Born in Siberia, Russia, he is fluent in Russian. As a graduate student, Dr. Lyubchenko learned Japanese and still remembers how to write “Japan” with characters.
