Eneco Tour rebranded to BinckBank Tour
Amsterdam, 5 April 2017 - BinckBank is the new main sponsor and title partner of the BinckBank Tour, the Eneco Tour. The event takes places from August 7 until tot 13.
The BinckBank Tour is the only UCI WorldTour stagerace in the Netherlands and Belgium, ideally tailored to the classic professional riders. All WorldTour teams participate in the cycling event. The new main sponsor has entered into a five year agreement connecting its name to the race. This guarantees that the world's best cyclists can be seen in action each summer in the Netherlands and Belgium in the years to come.
The BinckBank Tour returns to its usual calendar frame in the first weeks of August. The team presentation takes place on Sunday August 6th in Breda. One week later, on Sunday August 13, the new winner of the general classification will be honoured with the green BinckBank leaders jersey in Geraardsbergen. Stagefinishes are planned in Venray, Leidschendam, Ardooie, Lanaken, Sittard-Geleen en Houffalize.
The race has grown into one of the biggest recurring sports events in Belgium and the Netherlands over the last twelve years. Many hundreds of thousands cycling fans visit the race, which includes the best parts of monuments as Ronde van Vlaanderen and Amstel Gold Race. Exciting names as Tom Boonen, Mark Cavendish, André Greipel, Peter Sagan have and Niki Terpstra won stages and classifications.
The BinckBank Tour is organised by Golazo sports, the Belgian/Dutch sportsmarketing agency responsible for events like the NN Rotterdam Marathon, Baloise Belgium Tour and Lotto Sixdays of Flanders-Ghent. Golazo has secured the licence for the race with the UCI for the coming years.

Besides being main sponsor and title partner, BinckBank wants to actively develop new (digital) initiatives and side events to raise attractiveness for the cycling fans and audience. In 2017 a Team Timetrial is organised in Leidschendam, in which groups of friends or colleagues can ride a unique timetrial on a closed circuit, cheered on by thousands of fans.
