MADISON HEIGHTS, Mich., April 25, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- CARite Corporate announced today its decision to sever its contractual relationship with the former business owners of CARite of Kalamazoo. This dealership was independently owned and operated under a license granted by CARite to operate under its brand. The decision to terminate the relationship was made earlier this month following several defaults and delinquencies by these business owners. The store is currently closed and there is a pending lawsuit brought by CARite against the former owners in the 9th Judicial Circuit Court for Kalamazoo County.
CARite is aware that there are CARite of Kalamazoo customers that have been impacted by the former business partner's actions, mostly related to their failure to properly process title and registration paperwork. While CARite pursues all available legal remedies against these former business owners, CARite will work with any customers who are experiencing difficulties in obtaining their registration and/or plates under the previous ownership.

"Ultimately, the only entity harmed was CARite, who will make good on all outstanding obligations to consumers. No customer of CARite will suffer because of the actions of a few former business associates."
