Washington, D.C., May 10, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (USHCC) applauds Nina Vaca, Chairman and CEO of Pinnacle Group, and Claudia Mirza, CEO and Co-founder of Akorbi, on the distinction of their companies ranking among Women Presidents’ Organization and American Express 50 Fastest-Growing Women-Owned Companies in America. Both companies ranked in the top ten, with Pinnacle at number 2 and Akorbi at number 8. The ranking was reported this week in Fortune.
The list, which is in its tenth year, ranks companies based on both percentage and absolute growth. To qualify, businesses must be privately-held, woman-owned or led, and have reached an annual revenue of at least $500,000 as of Jan. 1, 2012. The 50 companies generated a combined $7.2 billion last year, up from $75 million in 2007, the first year the list was compiled.
“We are proud and delighted to see two outstanding members of our USHCC family recognized nationally for their phenomenal business acumen. The consummate entrepreneurs, Nina and Claudia built their respective companies into world-class firms, and are both examples of the very best in our business community. They are creating thousands of American jobs and driving economic development across the country. This is proof positive that when women succeed, America succeeds" said Javier Palomarez, President & CEO of the USHCC.
Vaca serves as the Chairman Emeritus of the USHCC, and is the Chairman of the USHCC Foundation. Mirza is a member of the USHCC and was named 2016 Businesswoman of the Year at the organization’s National Convention.
Nina Vaca said: “On behalf of everyone at Pinnacle Group, we are honored to receive this distinction as the second-fastest growing women-owned company in America for the second year in a row. All the companies on this list are led by women who have worked hard to turn entrepreneurial dreams into business success. I also applaud the USHCCfor recognizing the importance of women in business and supporting female entrepreneurs and executives in all stages of their careers.”
“I am so grateful that Akorbi has been recognized as one of the top-ten fastest-growing women-owned businesses in the country. Being acknowledged in this prestigious forum is a testament to our incredible team and the hard work that it takes to succeed in our increasingly competitive global economy. I am also proud to be a member of the USHCC, which is dedicated to advancing women and helping them grow their enterprises” said Claudia Mirza.
