VirtualArmour Sees 100% Client Protection Success Against “WannaCry” Attack

VANCOUVER, British Columbia, May 26, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Premier Managed Services Provider, VirtualArmour International Inc. (the “Company”) (CSE:VAI), announced today it was able to maintain 100% protection for its entire client base after one of the most severe international ransomware attacks, ‘WannaCry’.

Due to the mass exposure of the vulnerability of enterprise systems to the attack, VirtualArmour also has seen an increase in current client spend and new business development opportunities.

We have definitely seen a shift in the landscape. Businesses that previously felt detached from the cybersecurity threat, were clearly made aware that it could, and in all likelihood would eventually happen to them and therefore there was a need to take steps to protect their organizations,” said Russ Armbrust, VP of Sales at VirtualArmour.

Unlike other major breaches that have occurred over the past several years, the WannaCry attack went beyond causing financial damage and impacted essential public services driving home the seriousness of cyber-security to business leaders.

“With client protection and prevention paramount in our business, we’re very proud VirtualArmour was successful in preventing any of its clients from being impacted by this attack,” said Andrew Douthwaite, VP of Managed Services at VirtualArmour.

In the wake of the attack, VirtualArmour was asked by IDG Connect (the world's largest tech media company) to provide an expert overview on the outbreak and offer advice on necessary steps organizations should take to protect themselves.
