Armanino Expands Giving Through Service and Grants

Armanino Foundation Announces Q2 Grants as Firm Completes Largest Great Give Service Event in Its History

SAN RAMON, Calif., June 14, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Armanino LLP, one of the top 25 largest accounting and business consulting firms in the U.S., expanded its community impact with a record-setting Great Give day of service and announced second-quarter grant recipients through its charitable giving arm, the Armanino Foundation.

The ninth annual Great Give brought out the largest number of volunteers in the program’s history. The event also expanded its reach, adding teams based in the firm’s new offices in Los Angeles and Dallas. The yearly firm-wide community service event supports nonprofits to provide a variety of day-long philanthropic projects that serve communities where employees live and work. The community service day involved nearly 700 employees working on 42 projects across the country on Thursday, May 25. With almost 3,500 hours donated this year, Armanino has donated nearly 18,000 hours of service since the event started in 2009.

The Armanino Foundation will disperse $28,000 in direct grants to community organizations in regions surrounding its offices, including: Urban Partners Los Angeles, the GodFreds Foundation, AIDS/LifeCycle – San Francisco AIDS Foundation, the Exceptional Children’s Foundation, Public Counsel, Grateful Gatherings, NephCure Kidney International, Glide Foundation, Junior Achievement, Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy, Central City Association of Los Angeles, Family Aid for Catholic Education, Jewish Vocational Services, Salesian College Preparatory and Equest.

“Both the Great Give and Armanino Foundation embody our values as a firm by giving back our talent, time, money and energy to organizations that make an impact on their communities,” said Andy Armanino, managing partner of Armanino LLP.  “The organizations we support represent a variety of causes, including education, food relief and environmental stewardship, among others. We are happy to close our offices for a day to lend a hand to these important community resources, and we encourage employees to continue volunteering.”

The annual Great Give and Armanino Foundation are both part of the firm’s Helping Hand, a collection of community giving efforts that includes “30 by 30” year-round projects and other opportunities, such as volunteer vacations. The firm-sponsored vacations take Armanino staff and partners to places such as Mexico and Catalina Island to work on weekend or weeklong service projects.   Armanino’s Helping Hand was founded as a result of a groundswell of support from employees interested in giving.

“It is personally fulfilling to work for a firm that not only talks about the importance of volunteerism in our local communities, but offers a day to do so,” said Cathy Hawkins, senior manager in the firm’s learning and development team. “The Great Give is my favorite event of the year because there are so many choices of venues.”
