SPRINGFIELD, Ohio, July 11, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Crane Pro Parts STORE has streamlined its e-commerce website, which now allows customers to search for parts without registering or logging in.
Crane Pro Parts STORE, the North American online parts depot for global lifting leader Konecranes now has a year of successful operation under its belt. However, Crane Pro’s managers aren’t resting on their laurels. Instead, they’ve updated the site to streamline the customer experience.
According to Konecranes Region Americas E-commerce Product Manager Scott Straub, the STORE’S largest customer in its first year bought $170,000 worth of crane parts using the online interface, while the smallest transaction was one item for $8, demonstrating the range of orders that the company cultivates.
“In the past year the most noticeable change for Crane Pro Parts STORE is that the site is now public,” says Straub. “Our customers no longer need to register or log in to search for parts. It is so much easier when they can see immediately if we have the part they need in stock. Then they decide if it is worth their time to register and set up an account.”
The new interface allows parts buyers to access all the products and see inventory in real time, but they must set up an account to see pricing and place an order. Compared to the original interface, the signup process is now easier and streamlined with less required information. But the most important evolution is the ability to accept credit cards for purchases.
“The main benefit for the customer is 24/7 access to information and the ability to place orders using whichever payment method they prefer,” says Straub. “They get a jump in line because they don’t need to wait for business hours or a response from us to place an order. Customers also appreciate that they can access the STORE and get a price immediately, which can potentially save a day or more compared to typical quotes delivered through email.”
Once a company registers for an account, the STORE gives its employees the ability to access their order history and saved parts lists, offering a shortcut to critical part numbers and repeat orders. In the event that an employee of a registered company leaves, his or her successor will be able to see what their predecessor ordered previously. The STORE also allows customers to access an online library of scarce or out-of-print parts manuals for the 40-plus brands in the Konecranes family of OEM brands.
Crane Pro Parts has built a reputation for providing spare parts for “any crane, any time,” and its online STORE was designed to take that promise even farther. The most compelling statistic after a year in business is that the STORE now has over 1,000 active user accounts, accounting for nearly 10 percent of Crane Pro Parts’ total business volume.
“Our goal is to provide instant access to crane parts and information and make online ordering simple and fast,” says Straub. “Our average STORE order after a year in business runs around $1,000, and that number keeps going up.”
Customers can access the Crane Pro Parts STORE by visiting craneproparts.com or konecranesusa.com and clicking “STORE”.
