Patient-Friendly Clinical Trials Finder Gives Access to Clinical Trials in Real-Time

Revolutionary new tool matches patients with personalized results in latest research

July 11th, Washington, DC– Clinical trials are the key to new cancer treatments. However, less than 3% of cancer patients participate in these types of studies. In the case of colorectal cancer, the number is less than half of that.

The new online Clinical Trial Finder is one of the only databases with direct backend access to all trials posted on ClinicalTrials.gov as well as the National Cancer Institute, ensuring that new trials and the latest research are being added to the Clinical Trial Finder in real time.

“Finding a clinical trial can be confusing, to say the least. When you’re going through something as hard as cancer, the last thing you want to do is try to sort through all the various names and phases of trials,” says Michael Sapienza, President & CEO of Colon Cancer Alliance.

With the new Finder, patients are able to get personalized results based on location, biomarker, phase, stage and more. In addition, patients can choose to email their doctor or the Colon Cancer Alliance’s Patient/Family Support team all within the Finder portal.

“With advances in tumor testing, it is now easier than ever to carefully select a trial that may benefit you based on your tumor's genetic makeup. Thanks to a clinical trial, I went from an inoperable, scared, dying stage 4 colon cancer patient to being cancer free,” Stephen Estrada, colorectal cancer survivor.

Clinical trials are the hope for the future of cancer research. To learn more about the Clinical Trial Finder, visit https://www.ccalliance.org/clinical-trials

The Colon Cancer Alliance’s Clinical Trial Finder is generously supported by Boston Biomedical, Genentech, Taiho Oncology and Smart Patients.
