The American Health Council Names Jodi Aragona, MD, to Physician Board


NEW YORK, July 24, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Becoming involved in her current profession from a lifelong, withstanding inclination towards helping others, Dr. Jodi Aragona of St. Luke’s Emergency Medical Group in Florida has been appointed by The American Health Council to their Board of Physicians. With 21 years in the healthcare industry and nine years in her current role as Attending Faculty, Dr. Aragona joins a myriad of renowned and successful personnel within her field.

Graduating with honors from The University of Southern California Medical School with her MD in Emergency Medicine (1995), Dr. Aragona also holds certifications as both a Fellow of the American Academy of Emergency Medicine as well as a Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians. One of the first female physicians to be named Chief Resident at USC in 1999, Dr. Aragona oversees the entire Emergency Department at St. Luke’s, including Critical Care and Pediatrics. Dr. Aragona also specializes in Hyperbaric Medicine, which treats a number of issues including hearing impairments, chronic ulcers, migraines, as well as various forms of cancer. She enjoys caring for her patients, no matter how young or how old they may be.

Dr. Aragona is a 5-time Physician of the Year Award-winner, being garnered from 2002-2007, and has also won The Research Resident Award as well as The Emergency Physician of the Year Award in 2008. She is also honored to have been presented twice with the Spirit Award in 2011 and 2013, and more recently in 2016 with the Outstanding Physician Excellence Award. Sr. Aragona currently serves on two different Councils for Pain Management and Hospital Throughput, and is a member of Doctors Without Borders, the ALS Association, and Operation Christmas Child, whose contributors donators distribute shoeboxes filled with toys to children in need during the holiday season.

In her spare time, Dr. Aragona enjoys reading, writing, traveling, as well as spending time with her two children and husband, whom she has been married to for almost 20 years.
