Toronto, ON, Aug. 25, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Accessible Media Inc. (AMI) announced today that it will air two new original documentaries in celebration of the 2017 Invictus Games taking place in Toronto from September 23 to 30.

In the first documentary, Road to Recovery Invictus Games 2017, host Anthony McLachlan discovers the history and significance of the Invictus Games and follows three remarkable competitors as they prepare to represent Team Canada on home soil. The second documentary will air following the games, catching up with competitors during and after the events.

“The games embody willpower, perseverance and determination which resonates with Canadians of all abilities,” says Michelle Dudas, Senior Producer for AMI-tv. “We’re truly honoured to be able to share the inspiring stories of some of the local competitors participating in the Invictus Games this year.”

Road to Recovery Invictus Games 2017 will follow three past and present members of the Canadian Armed Forces on their path to the games. First, Anthony will travel to Quebec to meet with Simon Mailloux, the co-captain of Team Canada, and hit the track with him for a training session. Then he heads to Oliver, BC to join Lutz Stelzner, the only blind competitor representing Canada, on his tandem bike. Finally, he’ll head to Milton, ON to train with Kelly Scanlan in a multitude of sports and visit the fire station where she works as a firefighter.

The documentary will also feature exclusive interviews with Michael Burns, CEO of Invictus Games Toronto 2017, and Greg Lagace, Manager of Team Canada and Founder of Soldier On.

Road to Recovery Invictus Games 2017 will air on AMI-tv on August 31 at 3 and 10 p.m. ET. The full documentary will also be available to stream online at ami.ca following the broadcast.
