DETROIT, Aug. 28, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Compuware Corporation, the world’s leading mainframe-dedicated software company, today announced that it’s once again being recognized as a Cool Place to Work in Michigan by Crain’s Detroit Business.
Cool Places to Work is an award given to companies based on the combined results of two surveys. Employers provide information about benefits, policies, practices and perks, while employees provide confidential responses to a 80-question survey. The results identify the strengths and weaknesses of a company’s culture and practices.
“We are a proud mainframe software company with an inventive spirit and an inspired determination to solve the urgent challenges of our customers,” said Compuware CEO Chris O’Malley. “It’s been amazing to witness Compuware’s transformation into a customer-obsessed organization on a quest to becoming the best mainframe partner for the next 50 years. Our improving customer satisfaction and return to revenue growth is a testament to the engaged Compuware team members dedicated to reinventing the future of the mainframe.”
Compuware’s secret? A business, agile-by-design, that can turn ideas that matter to customers into deliverables that make a difference – quickly and continuously. On October 2, Compuware will deliver an unprecedented 12th consecutive quarter of new capabilities, enhancements to classic offerings and integrations with state-of-the-art DevOps tools.
Ideation fuels Compuware’s fire. To encourage idea generation from throughout the organization, Compuware created a simple means by which any employee can submit their ideas for consideration. Ideas are then selected from those submitted based on feasibility and customer value and a standing scrum team is given responsibility to bring the ideas to life.
Compuware invites college interns to spend their summers working on projects that have real impact on the company and customers. This year, four interns completed a project that fully automates the unpacking of customer-provided digital information used for customer support. This process will eliminate hundreds or hours of manual work every month and improves the speed at which customer issues are resolved.
In addition to providing a supportive culture that values ideas and amplifies talents, Compuware provides comprehensive medical and dental plans, company-paid life and disability insurance, flexible work arrangements a generous 401(k) match and career development and education assistance including tuition reimbursement. The company actively works to support its employees' work/life balance by offering resources such as worldwide wellness programs, dependent- and elder-care reimbursement accounts, an employee referral program, and much more. Employees who work at or visit Compuware's Detroit headquarters enjoy an onsite gourmet cafeteria; commuter assistance program; state-of-the art wellness and child development centers; a physician and chiropractor office; dry cleaning services as well as access to onsite retailers and restaurants.
