Avaya IP Office Cloud Empowers Assisted Living Facility To Connect Staff and Keep Residents Safe

SANTA CLARA, CA--(Marketwired - August 29, 2017) - Maryland-based healthcare provider, Golden Crest Assisted Living has deployed Avaya IP Office Cloud for its network of assisted living facilities, providing greater reliability, efficiency and functionality to its existing communication systems. The hybrid IP Office architecture allows Golden Crest to maintain its investment in premises-based equipment while seamlessly adding advanced communications capabilities via the cloud. The new solution helps increase safety for the residents and provides new efficiencies for the staff, while delivering savings to the company's bottom line.

Golden Crest Assisted Living provides personalized care in five small, home-like facilities. The family owned and operated licensed facility needed a reliable communications system that could ensure round-the-clock service to keep its residents safe, quickly connect staff distributed throughout the five homes and be extremely easy to manage and maintain. In addition, the rural location posed a costly challenge for getting reliable voice and data connectivity.

Using an Avaya IP Office hybrid architecture meant Golden Crest Assisted Living could simply add the capabilities of a newer version via the IP Office Cloud while dedicating their existing, premises-based Avaya IP Office system for emergency failover and connectivity to existing phones. This hybrid cloud approach saves the facility well over $700 per month and provides the features to quickly connect staff wherever they're located.

Avaya channel partner, Data Voice eXchange, Inc. deployed the first-of-its-kind hybrid cloud service, and provided the high quality, reliable and up-to-date communications Golden Crest Assisted Living needed.

Golden Crest CEO Bob Meekins said:
"The Avaya phones are reliable and the quality is crystal clear. That's imperative from a safety standpoint. When we need to make an emergency call or contact a resident's family, we need to know the solution will work. Avaya gives us that."

"Right off the bat, I saved $700.00 per month because the Avaya hybrid solution eliminated my need for a second T1 line. On top of that, we were able to repurpose the IP Office and build on it. Avaya has saved us a bundle."

"I don't have an office, my truck is my office. I am always traveling among the five homes. And my wife has a home office and is on the road at all of the facilities every day. The IP Office mobile twinning is great, when someone calls one of us, the call rings directly to our cell phones."
