Biking for Young Breast Cancer Survivors

200-mile Cycling Event Raises Awareness and Funds

New York, NY, Sept. 08, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- In just under 30 days, cyclists from around the northeast will gather together in solidarity for young women diagnosed with breast cancer, biking over 200 miles and raising thousands of dollars for the support and education for women diagnosed at age 40 and under.

YSC Tour De Pink kicks off Friday, October 6 outside Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and ends Sunday, October 8 in Long Branch, New Jersey. Riders will travel 211 miles through historic towns, picturesque rural communities, and iconic shore spots.

Participants can also join in for a single-day, 58-mile ride on Saturday, October 7 from Princeton to Asbury Park.

Tour de Pink is a fundraising event of Young Survival Coalition (YSC), the premier nonprofit dedicated to young women with breast cancer. The funds raised will help educate, empower and connect the more than 250,000 young American women who have faced breast cancer.

Now in its 13th year, Tour de Pink has generated more than $8 million in the name of young women affected by breast cancer. And Tour de Pink is more than just a bike ride: it’s a “rolling community” of survivors, partners, family and friends.

About Young Survival Coalition (YSC)®

Established in 1998, Young Survival Coalition (YSC) is the premier organization dedicated to young women with breast cancer. Founded by three young survivors, YSC began as a grassroots organization to advocate on behalf of all young women diagnosed with breast cancer to increase their length and quality of life. Based in New York City, with networks nationwide, YSC provides free resources, connections and educational materials so young women with breast cancer feel supported, empowered and hopeful. YSC seeks to educate and influence the medical, research and legislative communities to address breast cancer in young women, and to ensure that no young woman faces breast cancer alone.
