Gatlinburg, Tenn., Sept. 20, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Sugarlands Distilling Company is hosting the inaugural Sugarlands MountainFest from Sept. 28-Oct. 1, 2017. The final day, Sunday, Oct. 1, is “Celebrate Gatlinburg Day,” and the festival will celebrate the city of Gatlinburg, the Great Smoky Mountains, those who call the mountain town home and the first responders who serve daily to keep the city safe.
Sugarlands MountainFest has partnered with Pilot Flying J, a supporter of the Mountain Tough Recovery Team, to provide free admission to Sevier County first responders and a guest on Oct. 1. Pilot Flying J also is providing a water station for Sunday’s 5K race and free coffee for all attendees.
Citizen’s National Bank joins the roster of community champions and is offering two tickets for each business that is part of the Gatlinburg Chamber of Commerce. Thanks to support from Food City, 200 Gatlinburg residents will be able to attend Sunday’s festivities free of charge. To obtain tickets, residents should visit the Gatlinburg Food City on East Parkway from Sept. 20-27. Proof of residency is required to receive one Sunday festival passes. Tickets are available on a first come, first serve basis.
Along with four days of outdoor competitions, music and fun, Sugarlands MountainFest will be giving back to several local nonprofits. The weekend’s cycling events will benefit DreamBikes Knoxville, an organization whose mission is to help underserved communities in Knoxville with paid job training and scholarships for teens. The festival also will be giving back to the Great Smoky Mountains Institute at Tremont.

This partnership is an excellent way to showcase the mountain way of life and what the Gatlinburg community is all about.
