AMSTERDAM, NETHERLANDS / CEDAR PARK, TEXAS, Oct. 04, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- NuVinci Cycling, a division of Fallbrook Technologies Inc., is proudly introducing its MY2019 product portfolio, which includes five new groupsets created with five distinct consumer personas and types of bicycle models in mind. The five new groupsets consist of a NuVinci Optimized™ controller and transmission for five market segments: city, trekking, sportive, cargo, and commercial groupset. All groupsets are available with the manual stepless or automatic shifting option.
“The eBike market is entering the next step in its evolution. New models are emerging and growing such as SUV-type and eCargo bikes. NuVinci Cycling is meeting the needs of these growing, differentiated segments by introducing new groupsets designed specifically for individual use cases, and the customer persona attracted to those use cases. We analyzed the riders’ needs and their riding environments to design five very specific groupsets to meet those individual needs,” says Anne Guethoff, Marketing Director at NuVinci Cycling.
Since its initial introduction in 2007, NuVinci Cycling’s products have enabled manufacturers to differentiate their models by significantly enhancing the riding experience. The new portfolio approach provides manufacturers with a clear orientation within the product range and allows them to utilize the unique benefits of the NuVinci Optimized stepless and automatic shifting, for even more use cases.
In line with the needs of the city rider, the city groupset has an increased efficiency, while offering a maintenance-free ride through belt drive compatibility, which is also enabled in the trekking groupset. Additionally, the trekking groupset offers a wide ratio range with an animated display to help the user find the perfect ratio, suitable for their weekend ride. The sportive groupset addresses the desires of the fitness-focused rider and provides compatibility to thru-axle dropouts, while enabling shifting under load of up to 100Nm, even with powerful eMTB motors. The commercial and cargo groupsets offer a commercial warranty and focus on durability, while ensuring longevity through specifically chosen materials like harder durometer grip material. The safety of the rider has also been taken into account by offering an integrated brake disc mount of up to 203mm on the cargo groupset.
“All transmissions and controllers feature an internal and external design that is the most suitable for its use case. Both the OEM and the rider will see the benefits, both from an ROI and riding experience point of view. Over or under-speccing can now be an issue of the past,” summarizes Richard Hilgart, Product Manager at NuVinci Cycling.
The five groupsets will be available for MY2019 models, with shipments starting in the second quarter of 2018. Until then, the current products can be ordered and warranty stock of the previous products will still be available.
