AMERICA’S PREEMINENT CIVIL RIGHTS LEADERS JOIN FORCES WITH NATION’S MAYORS TO ADDRESS ECONOMIC INEQUITIES & CIVIL RIGHTS DISPARITIES

Mayors, Civil Rights Groups Tackle Voting Rights, Economic Anxiety Across Community Lines

New York, NY, Oct. 26, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Today, too many American families are unable to reach their full potential and are losing faith because of the country’s divisive political climate and the inability of the federal government to advance smart policy solutions. Where Washington fails to lead and lift, cities, led by mayors of both parties and home to over 80 percent of the country’s population, step in. That’s why National Urban League President Marc Morial and USCM President Mayor Mitch Landrieu (New Orleans) will join civil rights leaders and a delegation of the country’s mayors to unite around a results-driven, inclusive economic policy plan and civil rights restoration push at New York City’s Gracie Mansion on Thursday, October 26, 2017.
