The Princess Ball was founded in 2014 by Olivia’s mother Jennifer White as a way to celebrate Olivia’s life and her giving spirit. Olivia passed away suddenly and unexpectedly in her sleep on Boxing Day in 2012 of an undiagnosed blood infection. The Princess Ball raises funds for Make-A-Wish® Canada to help bring magic to children with life threatening illnesses who need it the most. To date The Princess Ball has supported 27 children getting their wish granted, and Wishes for Olivia is hoping to grant eight more wishes this year.
“As a family, we struggled to find peace after losing Olivia. It was the worst thing that a family can possibly experience. Olivia had such a resilient and giving spirit and we know she would have loved sharing a little bit of magic with other children,” says Jennifer White, founder and organizer of the event. “The Princess Ball is so much more than just an event to raise money. It is a chance for us to carry on her legacy in a beautiful way.”
The theme this year is Show Your Strength, and celebrates how powerful we can be. Princesses that use their powers of resilience, intelligence, leadership, kindness, independence, and strength to do good will be honoured. Boom 97.3’s morning show host Stu Jeffries will be returning to host, guiding guests through energetic entertainment and so many activities on-site. The Princess Ball is expected to be another one-of-a-kind, lavish family-friendly event.
Sponsors and partners for the 2016 The Princess Ball include: Liquid Entertainment, Fairytale Princess Parties, NagataConnex, Marketers on Demand, Glama Gal Tween Spa, Home Trust Company, Happy Faces, and SongBird Marketing Communications, with more to come.
