STOUFFVILLE, Ontario, Nov. 30, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Over 200 cats are now settling into loving homes across the province after being adopted during a successful Black Friday adoption initiative by the Ontario SPCA.
The Ontario SPCA’s 13 Animal Centres across the province reduced adoption fees on all cats and kittens to $25 from Nov. 24-28 to help find homes for the many animals in their care. The cats were spayed or neutered, microchipped, came with a gift of six weeks of pet insurance and were up to date with their vaccines.
Working with adoption counsellors throughout the adoption process, potential adopters were required to take a Meet Your Match® survey, which matches an adopter’s preferences to an animal’s behaviours and interests to ensure they are taking home a pet they really connect with.
“We were at capacity, so we’re very thankful to everyone who welcomed a cat or kitten into their life,” says Tonya Martin, Director, Animal Centres & Humane Programming, Ontario SPCA. “The success of this adoption initiative allows us to help more animals in need by creating space in our Animal Centres.”
