WALDORF, Md., Jan. 05, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Community Bank of the Chesapeake enjoyed the gift of giving this holiday season as they presented representatives from the Southern Maryland Food Bank and Fredericksburg Regional Food Bank approximately 800 pounds of food. The Bank’s annual Food and Toy Drive helps serve local families throughout its communities.

The Holiday Food and Toy Drive ran from November 7 – December 6, 2017. All Community Bank of the Chesapeake branches served as donation sites for customers and members of the community to drop off new toys and nonperishable food items. A total of 266 toys were donated to the Marine Corps Reserve’s Toys for Tots program in Southern Maryland and Fredericksburg. Food donations benefitted the Southern Maryland Food Bank and the Fredericksburg Regional Food Bank, with a total of approximately 800 pounds donated.
