Phoenix, Jan. 17, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- College Success Arizona, an organization leading the way to increase Arizona’s college graduation rates by providing financial and other support to Arizona’s low-income students, welcomes Richard C. Daniel, Ph.D., as Chief Operating Officer.
Dr. Richard Daniel brings a long history of working to improve education outcomes for students, particularly first-generation and low-income students. His most recent position was as the Vice President for Institutional Advancement for Saint Michael’s College, in Burlington, Vermont. He has also held leadership positions with the University of Texas at El Paso, South Mountain Community College, and Arizona State University.
“Richard’s experience in, and deep understanding of, higher education, coupled with his local connections and history, make him a perfect fit to support College Success Arizona’s mission to assist all Arizona students in attaining postsecondary degrees and certificates,” said Rich Nickel, President and CEO of College Success Arizona. “We are thrilled to welcome Richard to our team.”
Daniel was born in Superior, Arizona, where his father worked in the copper mines. After graduating from Superior High School, he moved to Phoenix, where he continued his education. Daniel was the first in his family to attend college, earning his bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science (Pre-Med) from Arizona State University. Daniel returned to ASU to earn both his Master of Education, in Higher Education Administration, and Doctor of Philosophy, in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies.

Daniel’s first day with College Success Arizona was January 16.
