Teq Becomes Exclusive SMART Distributor for New Jersey

Huntington Station, New York, Feb. 06, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Teq, the leading educational technology and professional development company, has been granted an exclusivity agreement to be the sole distributor of SMART Board® interactive displays and SMART Learning Suite software to schools across New Jersey.

New Jersey has over 2,500 schools and over 600 operating districts serving over 1.4 million students.

The statewide agreement with Canadian-based SMART Technologies is intended to bring the latest classroom technology to New Jersey schools at lower prices, with better service and support. The new exclusivity agreement takes effect on March 15th.

Teq said they’re confident the deal will allow them to bring New Jersey schools a greater return on their technology investment. “Our team has worked very hard to earn this agreement,” said Damian Scarfo, Teq’s CEO. “SMART is holding us to a very high standard, and we believe this agreement is the best opportunity for New Jersey educators to have a great experience with the SMART brand. They know we can support the entire state with a logistics and install team that will exceed customer expectations, and unparalleled professional development on the SMART product line.”

SMART’s award-winning interactive displays are the most widely-used interactive flat panel displays in classrooms across North America. Newer models allow for wireless screen casting from teacher and student devices, and come with embedded computing technology. Displays sold through Teq will come with a standard 5-year warranty, compared to the 3-year warranty currently available in the state.

Teq’s other exclusivity agreement with SMART for New York has resulted in lower costs for SMART products. Teq has added 20 hours of free professional development to SMART purchases, secured better warranty terms, and reduced the time from order-to-install by 20% since 2015, when the New York agreement began.

“To any school district seeking to impact student learning through effective instructional technologies, I would highly recommend the SMART products. And to any school district seeking to partner with a high-quality vendor that understands how the SMART products can be an effective tool in technology integration to support student learning, I would highly recommend Teq,” said Mark Wixon, Assistant Superintendent for Instruction and Technology at the Vernon-Verona-Sherrill Central School District.

Teq employs over 130 people in New York and New Jersey.
